Legal Counsel – Construction, Projects & Procurement

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Counsel to join a leading UAE real‑estate developer. The role focuses on construction, projects and procurement matters, providing hands‑on, in‑house support to the Legal Director, General Counsel and the broader legal team.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate construction and procurement contracts with contractors, consultants, suppliers and commercial partners.
• Advise project managers, procurement leads and business units on contract administration, procurement strategy and project delivery.
• Provide practical, commercially‑focused legal advice throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage construction‑related disputes, alternative dispute resolution, litigation and settlement matters.
• Coordinate external counsel to ensure cost‑effective, high‑quality legal advice.
• Identify contractual and legal risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Represent the legal function in steering committees, risk panels and cross‑functional working groups.
• Develop standard contracts, templates, guidance notes and internal playbooks.
• Deliver training to project, procurement and wider business teams.
• Supervise and support junior members of the legal department.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws or equivalent legal qualification.
• Current bar membership or relevant professional legal admission.
• Minimum four years of relevant legal experience.
• Strong background in construction, projects and procurement.
• Previous private‑practice experience with an international or reputable law firm handling construction matters.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
