Legal Counsel - FinTech

About the role

This is a unique opportunity to become the company's first dedicated in‑house legal professional, partnering directly with senior leadership to support strategic growth and manage legal risk. The role offers broad exposure across lending, debt recovery, commercial contracts, regulatory matters, new product initiatives, market expansion, and corporate structuring projects within a dynamic fintech environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead debt recovery, collections and pre‑litigation activities across the UAE.
• Manage external counsel and oversee claims, enforcement and litigation matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial, lending and financing agreements.
• Advise the business on lending, trade finance, credit and day‑to‑day commercial legal matters.
• Support new market entries, licensing activities and corporate structuring initiatives.
• Partner with commercial, product and operational teams to identify risks and deliver practical legal solutions.
• Develop legal processes, governance frameworks and policies while monitoring regulatory developments.

Required profile

• Fluent Arabic (mandatory) and strong command of English.
• Experience in finance, banking, in‑house legal departments or private practice, particularly in collections, lending and debt matters.
• Proven ability to manage external counsel and handle litigation and enforcement actions.
• Demonstrated skill in drafting and negotiating commercial and financing contracts.
