Legal Counsel

About the role

We are looking for a commercially‑focused Legal Counsel with strong in‑house experience in the Oil & Gas and EPC sectors. The role will support the business across corporate, commercial and operational matters, ensuring legal compliance and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice on corporate, commercial and operational issues.
• Manage corporate governance activities such as company formations, restructurings, board and shareholder resolutions, powers of attorney and statutory compliance.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and legal documents.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Coordinate external legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
• Support litigation, arbitration, claims, investigations and other dispute‑resolution matters.
• Conduct legal research and prepare opinions, reports and management briefings.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and recommend appropriate actions.
• Liaise with government authorities, regulators and external stakeholders on legal and corporate matters.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver commercially driven legal solutions.

Required profile

• LL.B. from a recognized university (mandatory).
• Minimum 7–8 years post‑qualification experience, including at least 3 years in an in‑house Legal Counsel role.
• Experience within Oil & Gas, EPC or related industries.
• Fluent in Arabic and English (written and spoken); French is an advantage.
• GCC experience highly desirable.
