Legal Director

About the role

The Legal Director will provide strategic legal counsel to senior management of the Jumeirah group, a luxury hospitality brand within Dubai Holding Hospitality. This senior position ensures compliance, mitigates risk, and supports the group’s growth across multiple regions.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and apply local and regional laws to ensure full regulatory compliance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including vendor, partnership, and client agreements.
• Develop and maintain standard contract templates for the organization.
• Provide legal support for real‑estate transactions such as acquisitions, disposals, and development projects.
• Monitor legislative changes affecting the hospitality sector and advise on necessary adjustments.
• Oversee litigation, dispute resolution, and coordinate with external counsel when required.
• Manage intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyrights, and licensing agreements.
• Lead corporate governance activities, including board meetings and policy compliance.
• Identify legal risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• Minimum 8‑10 years of post‑qualification legal experience, preferably in an in‑house role.
• Leadership experience within an international luxury hospitality or multinational organization.
• Proven ability to advise senior executives on complex legal issues.
• Strong understanding of jurisdictional differences, especially in the Middle East and Asia.
• Deep knowledge of contract and asset management law in the UAE.
