Life Acceptance Underwriting Manager – Middle East

About the role

QBE is seeking a Life Acceptance Underwriting Manager for the Middle East, based in Dubai. This newly created position will shape and lead the Life Acceptance Underwriting function across the region, providing technical expertise and strategic direction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of the Life Acceptance Underwriting function across the Middle East.
• Provide technical advice to life reinsurance underwriters and clients on risk classification, rating and selection.
• Build strong client relationships through meetings, workshops and market events.
• Develop and maintain assessment tools in collaboration with IT and the wider Life Acceptance team.
• Contribute to product development and identify opportunities to enhance underwriting solutions.
• Manage the Life Acceptance portfolio in line with risk appetite and profitability objectives.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, IT and other stakeholders to support strategic priorities.
• Build, lead and develop the future Life Acceptance Underwriting team.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in Life Acceptance Underwriting within life insurance or reinsurance.
• Strong medical and financial underwriting expertise.
• Proven leadership, coaching or people‑management experience.
• Excellent client relationship and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strategic thinker with a hands‑on approach and commercial awareness.
