Life of Field Engineer - UAE National

About the role

TechnipFMC is hiring a Life of Field Engineer in Abu Dhabi. The engineer provides technical support to internal and external customers across the full life of a product, from manufacturing and testing to final installation and after-sales service, and acts as the technical point of contact for ongoing projects and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Research, plan, coordinate and propose original designs of mechanical products and systems, and perform original design and layout work on CAD equipment.
• Provide real-time technical support for manufacturing issues and lead design staff in analysing design alternatives.
• Handle quality notifications (QNs) and rework, refurbishment and remanufacture activities, and create procedures and work instructions for mobilization, demobilization, maintenance, refurbishment and repair.
• Create, check and review engineering documentation through the ECN process and prepare engineering calculations for design reviews.
• Present design concepts and improvement proposals to internal and external clients, and participate in system integration testing (SITs).
• Support local HSEQ activities, root cause analysis (RCA), HAZOPs and risk assessments, following company rules for engineering, quality, environment, health and safety.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering bachelor's degree (required).
• Preferred: 3 years of experience in the oil and gas industry as a design, wellhead and XT, system, project, choke and valve or production systems engineer working with surface equipment.
• Knowledge of drilling operations related to surface wellhead equipment and of standards such as API 6A, API 17D and NACE MR0175.
• Understanding of design, manufacturing and refurbishment processes and of cost and economic factors.
• Self-motivated, able to communicate in technical discussions and guide others in the engineering team.

Required skills

• High-level engineering calculations in line with design guidelines.
• CAD (Unigraphics/NX), Mathcad, TCE, SAP and MS Office.
• Root cause analysis using industry practice.
