Loadmaster

About the role

The Loadmaster is responsible for managing aircraft turnaround operations, ensuring accurate weight and balance, safe loading of cargo and passengers, and coordinating ramp services. This role works closely with third‑party service providers, Network Control, and ground handling teams to guarantee on‑time departures and compliance with safety and security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Act as liaison for third‑party service providers, aligning resources with service level agreements.
• Coordinate with Network Control to ensure timely aircraft departures and manage flight disruptions.
• Manage all load control functions, maintaining aircraft weight and balance within operational limits.
• Oversee ramp operations, including external power, potable water, catering, and toilet servicing.
• Inspect cargo and mail for suitability, handle special loads such as Dangerous Goods and Live Animals, and provide signed NOTOC to crew.
• Drive freighter performance targets and monitor KPIs such as Freighter OTP, FAB, and Cargo IQ.
• Control and report GSE usage by ground handling agents to minimise costs.
• Ensure aircraft security on the ground and in the air, conducting cabin checks and access control.
• Conduct regular Aircraft Turnaround Checks on behalf of EY Ground safety.

Required profile

• Secondary school degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Loadmaster, in airline cargo operations, ground handling, or a similar military role.
• Demonstrated ability to manage load control, weight‑balance, and cargo handling processes.
