Logistics Intern – Distribution

About the role

As a Logistics Intern you will support the Distribution Manager in daily supply‑chain execution at Hilti’s Regional Distribution Centre in the UAE. You will work with internal teams and external logistics partners, gaining hands‑on experience in import/export, warehousing and transportation while contributing to data‑driven process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with daily import/export, warehouse and transport activities.
• Coordinate with service providers to ensure on‑time shipments and regulatory compliance.
• Handle inbound, inventory control, outbound, reverse logistics and regional deliveries.
• Collaborate with Customer Service, Sales and Material Management to improve service delivery.
• Apply lean tools and global standards to resolve root‑cause issues.
• Build dashboards and visualisations using Excel and Power BI.
• Support performance reviews of logistics service providers and follow up on corrective actions.
• Participate in cost management tasks such as invoice checks and audits.
• Interpret and communicate global KPIs and performance reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or related field (Master’s a plus).
• Strong analytical mindset with solid mathematical aptitude.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Detail‑oriented, organized and able to work under strict deadlines.
• Motivated, customer‑focused and committed to continuous improvement.
