MAC Specialist – Automation & Control Systems Lead

About the role

KBR is seeking a MAC Specialist to join the ADNOC PMC project in Abu Dhabi. The specialist will serve as the PMC focal point for all monitoring, automation and control system activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with international standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve engineering deliverables related to ICSS, DCS, PLC, SCADA, ESD, F&G, instrumentation and telecommunications systems.
• Monitor EPC contractor performance, coordinate interfaces between automation, electrical, instrumentation, telecom, cybersecurity and operations disciplines.
• Evaluate vendor documents, technical submittals and package designs; participate in HAZOP, SIL, FAT, SAT, IFAT and integrated system testing.
• Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, start‑up and performance testing, and ensure compliance with cybersecurity and digital asset management standards.
• Identify project risks and optimization opportunities, prepare technical reports and progress updates for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics or Automation Engineering (or related discipline).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, LNG or offshore projects, with at least 5 years in a PMC, EPC or Owner’s Engineer role.
• Proven experience in automation and control system design, implementation and commissioning across FEED, detailed engineering, construction support and commissioning phases.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with major control system platforms such as Honeywell, Yokogawa, Emerson, ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric and Rockwell Automation.
• Strong knowledge of DCS, PLC, SCADA, ESD, ICSS, instrumentation and telecommunications system integration.
• Experience with cybersecurity standards, digital asset management, real‑time monitoring, data integration and predictive analytics.
