Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Accor Plus is looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the Novotel & Ibis Gate Hotels in Abu Dhabi. You will ensure the smooth operation of all building services and equipment, supporting guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, inspect, maintain and repair HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, generators, domestic water systems, pumps, elevators, lighting and plumbing.
• Implement and execute planned preventive maintenance (PPM) programmes to keep systems running safely and efficiently.
• Respond promptly to engineering and guest service requests, coordinating urgent repairs to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate logs, shift handover reports and update maintenance checklists.
• Monitor energy consumption and assist with sustainability and energy‑saving initiatives.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping, Front Office, F&B and Security to resolve issues quickly.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest floors, plant rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house spaces.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and Accor operational standards.
• Manage inventory of spare parts, tools and equipment.
• Guide and train junior engineers or technicians as needed.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management or a related technical field.
• Minimum 2‑4 years of experience in hotel or similar facilities maintenance.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and communicate effectively with multiple departments.
