Maintenance Engineer – Restaurant Facilities

About the role

The Maintenance Engineer will lead an in‑house team of technicians and manage external vendors to ensure Americana Restaurants, commissaries and regional offices meet global standards for MEP, branding, compliance and health & safety. Acting as the primary point of contact for the regional operations team, the Engineer is responsible for delivering SLA performance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage reactive complaints and preventive‑maintenance work orders, ensuring response times and completion meet Americana SLA/KPI targets.
• Maintain strong customer and stakeholder relationships, serving as the direct point of contact for operations, supply‑chain, finance and landlord teams during restaurant operating hours.
• Execute the annual CAPEX plan, handling technical reports, RFPs, execution and reporting while controlling OPEX budgets and minimizing external vendor spend.
• Drive energy and sustainability initiatives, including IoT projects, digital thermostats, water/gas monitoring and solar‑panel installations.
• Lead and develop the technical team and external vendors, planning shifts, training and priority scheduling.
• Promote personal growth by attending courses and leveraging digital tools to manage work order volume efficiently.

Required profile

• BSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–7 years of maintenance experience within the restaurant or hospitality sector.
• Fluent English communication; Arabic is a strong plus.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with kitchen equipment and MEP systems.
• Proficiency in CAFM software, Field Management Systems and MS Office.
• Knowledge of IoT‑based applications for energy monitoring.
• Understanding of UAE authority regulations and landlord requirements.
