Maintenance Technician - Cafés, Restaurants and Facilities

About the role

This Maintenance Technician role covers the upkeep of equipment and facilities across cafés, restaurants, kitchens and stores. The technician handles food-service equipment, plumbing and water systems, basic electrical work and HVAC, and runs preventive maintenance schedules while keeping health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Café and restaurant equipment: perform preventive and corrective maintenance on coffee machines, grinders, ovens, microwaves, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers and ice machines; diagnose failures and coordinate external specialists when needed; keep maintenance, repair and warranty records.
• Plumbing and water systems: repair water lines, drains, sinks, faucets, water heaters and pumps; fix leaks, blockages and pressure issues; monitor water filtration systems.
• Electrical and HVAC: troubleshoot lighting, sockets and power connections; support air conditioning, ventilation and exhaust systems; ensure safe operation of all systems.
• Preventive maintenance: run scheduled inspections for stores, cafés, kitchens and facilities, manage tools and spare parts inventory.
• Health, safety and compliance: follow safety policies and regulations, ensure food safety and hygiene compliance, report risks and take corrective action.
• General maintenance: carpentry, painting, minor civil works, emergency calls, and support during new store openings, renovations and refurbishments.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certificate in mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, refrigeration, HVAC or a related field.
• 3-5 years of maintenance experience in cafés, restaurants, hotels, QSR or retail.
• Experience with commercial coffee machines and food-service equipment preferred.
