About the role

The Manager Compliance, FCRA and Projects will safeguard Mashreq Bank from financial penalties and regulatory actions related to non‑adherence to Financial Crime Controls. The role provides assurance that AML/CFT processes are embedded across the bank and drives the execution of an effective FCRA program.

Key responsibilities

• Safeguard the bank from financial penalties or regulatory actions by ensuring compliance with Financial Crime Controls (FCC) laws and regulations.
• Provide assurance that all AML/CFT processes and controls are embedded in the bank’s procedures and support the execution of an automated FCRA program to mitigate money‑laundering, terrorist financing, proliferation financing and ABC risks.
• Facilitate external regulatory examinations and internal audits, coordinate with business units to close audit findings and action items in a timely manner.
• Monitor emerging money‑laundering trends and recommend actions in line with the bank’s risk‑based AML policy, KYC guidance and risk‑appetite framework.
• Conduct investigations as required by regulators, AML/CFT, sanctions and compliance units, and recommend improvements to the compliance framework.
• Assist Head‑Office Compliance in drafting bank‑wide policies such as AML policy, semi‑annual MLRO reports, KYC guidance for high‑risk jurisdictions and personal investment policy.
• Lead compliance regulatory projects, oversee implementation across Mashreq locations and maintain strong relationships with relevant regulatory authorities.
• Ensure accurate record‑keeping, budget planning and reporting for the compliance function.
