Manager - Data Engineering

About the role

The Manager – Data Engineering will lead the design and delivery of Majid Al Futtaim’s next‑generation Business Intelligence and data strategy. Working from the UAE Digital Corporate Head Office, you will drive data virtualization, data lake warehousing and the adoption of emerging data technologies to create business value.

Key responsibilities

• Define and steer the NextGen BI & Data Strategy, including data virtualization and data lake initiatives.
• Research, prototype and adopt emerging data technologies aligned with business goals.
• Translate business questions into analytical solutions, building metrics and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
• Draft strategic documentation for senior leadership and support decision‑making across the organization.
• Design, develop and operate enterprise‑grade data pipelines that move data from production systems to the data warehouse and Power BI reporting layer.
• Maintain and optimise large‑scale data warehouse environments, ensuring scalability, reliability and cost‑effectiveness.
• Collaborate with business analysts to model OLTP and OLAP data for decision support.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of hands‑on experience in data engineering, data warehousing or related fields.
• Proven ability to design and manage complex data pipelines and large datasets.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.
