Manager – Design (Urban & Master Planning)

About the role

Al Ghurair is seeking a Manager – Design to lead urban design strategies and master‑plan projects within its Development Projects team. The role focuses on creating people‑centric environments that align with UAE regulations, climate, and cultural context.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate urban design strategies, small to mid‑scale master‑plan design, integrating architecture, landscape, mobility and public realm.
• Oversee placemaking initiatives, develop design briefs, RFPs and consultant scopes, and contribute to design benchmarking and market research.
• Manage multidisciplinary design activities, ensure adherence to internal processes, and maintain design documentation via the ACC platform.
• Review consultant submissions, provide feedback, support technical reviews of construction documents, and assist with site visits to monitor compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or a related field.
• 7‑10 years of experience in architecture, urban design or design management, including managing external design consultants.
• Strong communication skills, ability to lead cross‑functional teams and mitigate design risks.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in BIM and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Advanced use of AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and Adobe Suite.
• Microsoft Office suite.
