Manager - DRP 2 Mechanical Maintenance

About the role

The Manager – DRP 2 Mechanical Maintenance provides engineering advice and front‑line technical support to the Direct Reduction mechanical maintenance team, ensuring smooth plant operation, minimizing downtime and optimizing spare consumption with cost awareness.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a competent maintenance workforce, preparing staff reports, training plans and leave schedules.
• Prepare and coordinate maintenance plans for all Direct Reduction mechanical equipment with the planning section.
• Oversee budgeting, propose annual budgets and manage maintenance activities within approved financial limits.
• Plan and execute preventive, corrective and major repairs, troubleshoot breakdowns and identify root causes to improve equipment reliability.
• Manage resources and delivery targets for the Direct Reduction section, ensuring tasks are completed professionally and cost‑effectively.
• Ensure all mechanical equipment is inspected, maintained or overhauled safely and in line with best maintenance practices.
• Enforce compliance with safety, quality and environmental policies across the Projects division.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 8 years experience in Direct Reduction plant mechanical maintenance, including at least 4 years in a middle‑management role.
• Proven experience (3+ years) in applying engineering principles to maintenance operations.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, cost control and maintenance planning.
• Fluency in English (essential) and Arabic (preferred).
