Manager Network Development – Airline Planning

About the role

Etihad Airways is seeking a Manager Network Development to support the Senior Manager in calibrating the airline’s network planning systems and shaping its global route network. The role focuses on analysing medium‑ and long‑term network opportunities, building business cases and providing accurate forecasts to drive profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Support and conduct analysis of Etihad’s medium‑ and long‑term network development, recommending route, schedule and aircraft changes.
• Calibrate and fine‑tune the network planning tool to model scenarios and optimise seasonal and intra‑seasonal profitability.
• Prepare detailed business cases and forecasts aligned with Etihad’s financial objectives, validating assumptions with relevant departments.
• Assist in refreshing the five‑year network plan, passenger and revenue forecasts, and the annual budget based on fully dated schedules.
• Provide financial evaluations for alliances, fleet planning and other departments upon request.
• Communicate business case outcomes to the Network Planning team, Commercial teams and senior management, ensuring sign‑off.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from an internationally recognised university; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
• 10+ years of total work experience with at least 5 years in airline network planning.
• Strong verbal and written English and confidence presenting to senior management.
• Proven ability to develop and defend business cases and forecasts.

Required skills

• Experience with Lufthansa Systems Network Planning and Scheduling suite, particularly NetLine Plan.
• Detailed knowledge of airline network planning processes and industry data sources.
