Manager – Post-Contract Management

About the role

The Manager – Post-Contract Management is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of contracts after award, ensuring that all contractual obligations, milestones, payments and risks are effectively controlled. This role safeguards the organization’s commercial interests while supporting broader business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned contracts from award through execution, completion, closeout or termination, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
• Review contracts, develop administration plans, and identify key risks, obligations and stakeholder requirements.
• Monitor contract performance, including milestones, deliverables, payment schedules, renewals, warranties and other commitments.
• Maintain contract records, trackers, registers, dashboards and reporting mechanisms to provide visibility of status and performance.
• Prepare management reports highlighting progress, risks, delays, issues and corrective actions, escalating critical concerns as needed.
• Handle contract variations, amendments, change orders, extensions, claims and disputes, assessing commercial and operational impacts.
• Maintain risk registers and implement mitigation plans to minimise exposure.
• Coordinate with Finance to monitor contract values, payments, deductions, penalties and obligations.
• Act as primary contractual point of contact for internal stakeholders, suppliers, contractors, customers and consultants.
• Lead contract closeout activities, capture lessons learned and support process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Commercial Management, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
• 7–10 years of experience in Contract Management, Commercial Management, Procurement or Project Management.
• Proven experience preparing management reports, dashboards and contractual recommendations.
• Preferred experience in defence, government, engineering, infrastructure or manufacturing sectors.
• Preferred certifications: World Commerce & Contracting (WCC), CIPS, Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM), PMP or equivalent, FIDIC.
