Manager – Shari’a Assessment & Testing

About the role

The Manager – Shari’a Assessment & Testing is responsible for maintaining Shari’a compliance across the ADIB Group. This role monitors business activities against Higher Shari’a Authority resolutions, internal supervisory committee guidelines and Central Bank regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Senior Manager in maintaining and enhancing Shari’a compliance across the group.
• Monitor the Bank’s compliance with HSA, ISSC resolutions and CBUAE standards.
• Oversee the Annual Shari’a Assessment and Testing Plan and conduct detailed monitoring reviews.
• Assess Shari’a Non‑Compliance risks, coordinate with business units and operational risk teams, and implement effective controls.
• Prepare and present comprehensive review reports to stakeholders and committees, and supervise implementation of action plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Shari’a or Islamic banking or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience in Shari’a compliance, consultation or audit within Islamic banking.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• Leadership experience and ability to balance compliance requirements with business needs.

Required skills

• AAOIFI CSAA certification (or equivalent).
• CIPA certification (or equivalent).
• Expert knowledge of AAOIFI Shari’a standards and Islamic banking products.
