Managing Consultant – Quantum (Senior)

About the role

HKA, a global consultancy specialising in risk mitigation and dispute resolution, is seeking a Managing Consultant to lead quantum and damages work across construction, infrastructure, energy and engineering projects. You will work alongside recognised experts, preparing and evaluating complex claims for high‑value disputes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review quantum analyses, damages assessments and construction claims.
• Evaluate project records, contracts, cost documentation and financial data to establish entitlement.
• Support the preparation of expert reports for arbitration, litigation and other formal dispute resolution proceedings.
• Assist in developing and testing expert opinions through detailed technical and commercial analysis.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering high‑quality advice.
• Contribute to business development activities, including proposals and client engagement events.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience on construction, engineering, infrastructure or energy projects.
• Proven experience preparing, assessing or managing quantum claims and commercial disputes.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, project commercial management and cost analysis.
• Excellent analytical, report‑writing and communication skills.
• Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., MRICS, AIQS, CIOB) is desirable.
