Manufacturing Paint Technician - Aerospace

About the role

An experienced Manufacturing Technician (Spray Painting) is sought to support aerospace production activities in Abu Dhabi. The role covers surface preparation, spray painting, coating application and finishing of aerospace components, including metallic and composite structures. Candidates currently based in the UAE who can join immediately or on short notice are preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Perform industrial spray painting of aerospace components, assemblies and structures.
• Carry out surface preparation: sanding, cleaning, degreasing, masking and priming.
• Operate HVLP and conventional spray-painting equipment.
• Apply epoxy primers, polyurethane coatings and other specified industrial coatings.
• Prepare paint mixtures to manufacturer specifications, including mixing ratios and viscosity.
• Ensure uniform coating thickness, colour consistency, adhesion and surface finish.
• Identify and rectify defects such as overspray, orange peel, runs and uneven coatings.
• Conduct visual quality inspections and support coating thickness verification.
• Maintain spray booths, spray guns and related equipment.
• Follow production schedules, work instructions, quality requirements and HSE procedures, and coordinate with production and quality teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of practical experience in industrial spray painting, preferably in aerospace or automotive production.
• Strong hands-on experience in spray painting, surface preparation, priming and finishing.
• Ability to identify and correct paint defects and maintain consistent finishing quality.
• Understanding of spray booth operations, PPE, chemical handling and workplace safety.
• Preferred: experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing, familiarity with aerospace coating specifications, and experience painting composite airframes, fuselages, wings and structural components.

Required skills

• Proficiency in HVLP or conventional spray-painting techniques.
• Knowledge of paint mixing, coating materials, spray patterns and application techniques.
• Experience painting metallic and/or composite components.
