Marine Inspector – Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Marine Inspector to join AECOM’s Abu Dhabi team, supporting a range of marine and infrastructure projects. The role involves on‑site inspection, quality assurance, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with design and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor marine construction activities against approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Oversee works such as reclamation, dredging, rock placement, revetments, breakwaters, seawalls, marine edge protection and related structures.
• Monitor installation of piles, precast elements, concrete works and protection systems, and verify line, level, alignment and dimensions.
• Witness field and laboratory testing, review test results and quality records, and ensure proper documentation.
• Review Inspection Requests, method statements, material approvals and technical submissions.
• Identify defects, non‑conforming works and site issues, and coordinate corrective actions with contractors and engineering teams.
• Support underwater inspections and liaise with diving teams as required.
• Maintain daily inspection reports, photographs, records and other quality documentation.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, Construction or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in marine construction inspection and supervision on major projects.
• Knowledge of reclamation, dredging, rock placement, revetments, breakwaters, seawalls and marine edge protection.
• UAE experience on large marine or infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
