Marine Project Engineer

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Marine Project Engineer to lead engineering design and construction supervision on a large civil marine mega‑project. You will work on coastal structures, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with safety, quality and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design breakwaters, revetments, seawalls and quay walls from concept through detailed design, including preparation of design conditions and specifications.
• Review contractor methods, risk assessments and material submissions to ensure safe, effective execution and compliance with specifications.
• Coordinate constructability issues across civil disciplines such as steel erection, earthworks, piling and concrete.
• Manage quantity take‑off, tracking, reporting and forecasting for the civil discipline.
• Develop and oversee the civil marine construction quality program and support cost estimating and progress reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) with 8‑10 years of relevant marine civil engineering experience.
• Proven experience working in the MENA region and familiarity with local codes, dredging operations and marine construction practices.
• Demonstrated commitment to environment, safety and health, including zero‑accident safety programs.

Required skills

• Design of coastal structures (breakwaters, revetments, seawalls, quay walls).
• Structural construction operations, marine surveying, excavation, backfill and pile/foundation installation.
• Knowledge of dredging operations, soil stabilization and solidification.
• Experience with drainage design, open‑cut excavation and work around sensitive watercourses.
• Familiarity with industry quality standards and supervisory functions for field activities.
