Marine Sr. Superintendent

About the role

The Marine Senior Superintendent will oversee the day‑to‑day operations of company‑owned vessels, acting as the primary liaison between ships and the organisation. The role ensures that all vessels operate safely, efficiently and in full compliance with statutory regulations, certifications and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily vessel operations and coordinate with commercial teams.
• Liaise between ships and the organisation to ensure smooth communication.
• Ensure safety, certification and regulatory compliance for all vessels.
• Organise and follow up on audits, inspections and surveys.
• Monitor and respond to SIRE/CDI inspections and flag inspections.
• Visit vessels for pre‑vetting inspections and conduct additional audits as required.
• Participate in the appointment of port agencies and oversee timely invoicing for husbandry matters.
• Monitor vessel transits through high‑risk areas, oversee security alerts and coordinate with service providers.
• Support vessel load and discharge operations in coordination with commercial operators.
• Provide operational, safety and emergency support, and investigate navigational or operational incidents.

Required profile

• Master Mariner (FG) certificate of competency.
• 3–7 years of sailing experience as Master on board a ship.
• Minimum 2 years of shore‑based experience as a marine superintendent.
• Valid Certificate of Competency.
