Material Engineer – Fit-Out

About the role

Azizi Developments is seeking a Material Engineer to lead material management for fit‑out manufacturing and production projects across the United Arab Emirates. The role involves coordinating technical specifications, procurement, and quality assurance to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery of materials.

Key responsibilities

• Review project specifications, drawings, BOQs and determine material requirements.
• Prepare material submittals, technical data sheets, samples and obtain approvals.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Production, Design, QA/QC and Project teams to secure material availability.
• Evaluate and recommend suitable materials based on technical specs, quality, cost and availability.
• Monitor procurement, delivery, inspection, storage and consumption of materials.
• Inspect incoming materials for compliance with approved standards and maintain accurate records.
• Identify material wastage, propose optimisation and ensure proper handling and storage.
• Support project teams in resolving material discrepancies, shortages and quality issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Materials or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 4–7 years of experience in material engineering or material management within fit‑out, interior, joinery, aluminium, façade or manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of construction and fit‑out materials, finishes, hardware and related products.
• Experience with material submittals, technical approvals, procurement coordination and material inspection.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and BOQs.
