Material Engineer – Roads & Infrastructure

About the role

The Material Engineer will ensure that all construction materials used on road, bridge and infrastructure projects meet RTA specifications and project requirements. You will work closely with laboratories, testing agencies and on‑site teams to guarantee material quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve material submittals, mix designs and compliance certificates according to RTA and local authority standards.
• Coordinate and witness laboratory and field testing for concrete, asphalt, soil, aggregates, steel and other road materials.
• Monitor material storage, handling and traceability on site to prevent contamination or misuse.
• Support the Resident Engineer in handling material‑related NCRs, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Track material approvals, testing status and non‑conformances to protect project schedules.
• Participate in RTA inspections, audits and compliance reviews related to materials and quality assurance.

Required profile

• BSc degree from a recognized university.
• Dubai Central Laboratory approval.
• Minimum 10 years experience in design, construction and supervision of roads, bridges and infrastructure.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Dubai’s existing infrastructure networks.
• Extensive experience with quality inspections and ISO 9000 quality systems.
