Material Inspector – Water Infrastructure

About the role

Black Pearl Consult is looking for an experienced Material Inspector in Dubai, focused on drainage, sewerage, irrigation lines and water infrastructure. The role covers storm water and drainage, flood alleviation, wastewater networks and water distribution networks, involving investigations, planning, design, tendering, contract administration and construction monitoring. Candidates must hold DCL approval and have worked on water infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Review contractor material submittals for civil and piping works
• Collect and analyse data for conceptual planning and design phases
• Perform asset condition assessments to check compliance with technical specifications, contracts and local authority regulations
• Prepare material specification reports
• Assist in project administration: information gathering, proposal drafting, cost tracking and progress reports
• Review work by designers and administrative staff and identify non-conforming materials, reporting them and coordinating corrective actions
• Carry out technical and feasibility studies and site investigations
• Coordinate with international teams and liaise with internal and external clients
• Follow safe work practices and apply Design for Safety principles; ensure work aligns with quality systems and project procedures

Required profile

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in infrastructure projects
• Strong background in drainage, sewerage, irrigation lines and water infrastructure in Dubai
• At least 5 years of experience with Dubai Central Laboratory (DCL) approval
• Based in Dubai with experience in Dubai
• Knowledge of the ISO 9001:2018 quality system
