Materials & Corrosion Engineer

About the role

KBR is seeking a Materials & Corrosion Engineer to provide technical leadership on offshore oil & gas projects. The role focuses on delivering safe, reliable and cost‑effective material and corrosion solutions during FEED and detailed engineering phases.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare material selection reports, diagrams, corrosion control manuals and material adequacy checks.
• Develop and review material selection philosophies, corrosion control strategies and specifications.
• Perform corrosion rate modelling using software such as ECE 5.8.
• Provide input to multi‑discipline deliverables including equipment datasheets, piping specifications, MTOs and P&IDs.
• Oversee integration with process, piping and mechanical disciplines and ensure compliance with codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in offshore and onshore site visits for data collection, condition assessments and survey reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Front End Engineering Design (FEED), Pre‑FEED and Detailed Engineering Design (DED) for offshore oil & gas projects.
• Strong knowledge of material selection, degradation mechanisms and corrosion control strategies.
• Ability to manage complex projects and deliver high‑quality documentation.

• Corrosion rate modelling (ECE 5.8 or equivalent)

• Knowledge of NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 and MR0103/ISO 17495‑1 standards
• Cathodic protection design
• Preparation of material take‑off, design calculations and specifications
