Materials & Corrosion Engineer – Offshore Oil & Gas

About the role

We are seeking a Materials & Corrosion Engineer to provide technical leadership on offshore oil & gas projects in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on material selection, corrosion control strategies and delivering safe, reliable, cost‑effective engineering solutions during FEED and detailed design phases.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Materials & Corrosion engineering design during FEED, Pre‑FEED and detailed engineering phases.
• Prepare material selection reports, diagrams, corrosion control manuals, adequacy checks and specifications.
• Perform corrosion rate modelling using software such as ECE 5.8.
• Develop and review material selection philosophies and corrosion monitoring & chemical injection strategies.
• Define cathodic protection scope of work and produce material take‑offs and design calculations.
• Integrate M&C deliverables with process, piping, mechanical and other discipline interfaces, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
• Support other disciplines with material and corrosion inputs for equipment datasheets and piping specifications.

Required profile

• Proven experience in FEED, Pre‑FEED and Detailed Engineering Design for offshore oil & gas projects.
• Strong knowledge of material selection, material adequacy checks, degradation mechanisms and corrosion control strategies.
• Ability to manage complex projects and drive quality and schedule adherence.

Required skills

• FEED, Pre‑FEED and Detailed Engineering Design (DED)
• Corrosion rate modelling (ECE 5.8 or higher)
• Material selection and adequacy assessment
• Knowledge of NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 standards
• Knowledge of NACE MR0103 / ISO 17495‑1 standards
