Materials Engineer – Industrial Projects

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Materials Engineer to join our Abu Dhabi team, responsible for selecting, specifying and optimizing materials for industrial and materials‑handling projects.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct material analysis, selection and specification for industrial projects, including handling systems and structural components.
• Develop and maintain material specifications, technical datasheets and documentation in compliance with codes and standards.
• Perform material testing, quality control assessments and failure analysis to ensure performance criteria are met.
• Collaborate with structural, mechanical and process engineering teams to optimise material choices for cost‑effectiveness, durability and performance.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source materials, evaluate alternatives and manage procurement processes.
• Prepare detailed material reports, calculations and technical documentation for design reviews and project deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in materials engineering, selection or handling projects in the industrial sector.
• Professional Engineer registration (ECSA, PEng or equivalent) is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
