About the role

GEMS American Academy in Abu Dhabi is seeking passionate Mathematics Teachers to join its American‑curriculum and IB‑continuum school from August 2026. The role involves delivering high‑quality, inquiry‑based mathematics instruction to high‑school learners in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons aligned with American and IB curriculum standards.
• Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including English language learners and gifted students.
• Foster a positive, collaborative classroom culture that promotes curiosity and well‑being.
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching approaches to enhance learning.
• Assess student progress using authentic methods and provide timely feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues on unit planning and curriculum development.
• Participate in co‑curricular and community programmes to support holistic education.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a subject‑related degree with a recognised teaching qualification in Mathematics (e.g., PGCE, PGDE, state licence).
• Proven experience teaching high‑school mathematics, preferably within an American or IB curriculum.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students through purposeful learning.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and an inclusive school culture.
