Mechanical Design Engineer – Busbar ETO

About the role

Vertiv is looking for a detail‑oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join its busbar engineered‑to‑order (ETO) team in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. Reporting to the Design Manager, you will create accurate 2D drawings and 3D models for custom busbar assemblies while collaborating closely with BIM, project, and manufacturing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare manufacturing drawings for customized, non‑standard products based on project requirements, tender specifications, and delivery dates.
• Conduct design reviews according to the Design Control Plan and communicate BOM changes.
• Resolve drawing and specification discrepancies with the Design Manager to ensure quality.
• Maintain zero‑error design output, update drawing locations, and adhere to H&S and Vertiv policies.
• Support site measurements, project close‑out activities, and timely delivery of designs.

Required profile

• Graduate/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of CAD drafting experience, preferably in an ETO or custom fabrication environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, sheet‑metal design, and structural components.
• Familiarity with fabrication methods, machining processes, material selection, and manufacturing limitations for sheet metal, copper, and aluminum.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
