Mechanical Draftsman – MEP & Construction

About the role

Kinetics Group is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Mechanical Draftsman to join its engineering team in Dubai. You will work closely with engineers and project teams to produce accurate technical drawings, coordinate design requirements and keep project documentation up to date. The role suits someone who wants to advance in mechanical drafting while learning about HVAC, acoustic systems and noise control solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical shop drawings, technical drawings and construction details in AutoCAD.
• Review mechanical, MEP, architectural and engineering drawings and incorporate design revisions and mark-ups.
• Prepare material take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) from drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers and project teams to clarify requirements and resolve drafting issues.
• Check that drawings, dimensions, quantities and details comply with project specifications.
• Maintain drawing registers, revisions, BOQs and technical documentation.
• Support drafting and technical documentation throughout project execution and flag drawing discrepancies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting or a related field.
• 3-5 years of professional experience in mechanical drafting, MEP or construction-related projects.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on AutoCAD experience and 3 years of mechanical drafting experience.
• Practical experience preparing shop drawings, material take-offs and BOQs.
• Preferred: HVAC, MEP or mechanical construction experience, and familiarity with acoustic systems, noise control products or vibration isolation systems.

Required skills

• Advanced AutoCAD and mechanical shop drawing preparation.
• MEP drawings, mechanical systems and construction detailing; ability to read architectural, structural, mechanical and engineering drawings.
• Quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation and material calculations.
• Microsoft Excel for quantity calculations, reporting and documentation.
• Drawing revisions, technical coordination and document control.
• Attention to detail, organisation, time management and communication with engineering teams.
