Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer will supervise, inspect and coordinate all mechanical works related to stormwater, irrigation, pumping stations and associated infrastructure projects. The role ensures compliance with project specifications, authority requirements, quality standards, contractual obligations and HSE regulations throughout construction, testing, commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect mechanical works for drainage, irrigation networks, pumping stations, reservoirs, tanks, pipelines, valves and related facilities.
• Review mechanical shop drawings, technical submittals, material submissions, method statements and as‑built documentation.
• Coordinate mechanical activities with civil, structural, electrical, utility and SCADA disciplines.
• Monitor contractor performance, construction progress and installation quality against approved schedules.
• Witness and verify testing and commissioning activities such as hydrostatic, pressure, flushing and performance tests.
• Participate in factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT) where required.
• Resolve technical issues, design conflicts and construction challenges in collaboration with the project team.
• Prepare inspection reports, progress updates and technical assessments for the Resident Engineer.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of construction supervision experience on infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience with stormwater, irrigation, pumping stations, water transmission and related mechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of pumps, pipelines, valves and mechanical equipment testing and commissioning procedures.
• Familiarity with UAE/GCC authority requirements, quality standards and construction supervision practices.
