Mechanical Engineer – MEP Specialist (Sharjah)

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong MEP, HVAC and plumbing expertise to join our growing team in Sharjah. You will lead the design and coordination of building services, ensuring comfort, efficiency and compliance across a variety of commercial and residential projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead MEP design and coordination for HVAC and plumbing systems from concept to as‑built drawings.
• Review drawings, specifications and contract documents and verify constructability.
• Perform load calculations, equipment selection and duct/pipe sizing.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers and site teams to resolve clashes.
• Prepare technical submittals, RFIs and material approvals and follow them through to sign‑off.
• Monitor site progress, manage risks and keep projects on schedule and budget.
• Mentor junior engineers and draftsmen.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on MEP contracting experience, primarily HVAC and plumbing.
• Strong knowledge of Dubai and UAE codes (DM, DDA, Trakhees) and international standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA and IPC.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Experience with HVAC load calculation software (e.g., HAP).
• Ability to perform load calculations, equipment selection and duct/pipe sizing.
• Familiarity with BIM coordination and clash detection workflows.
