Mechanical Inspector - Site

About the role

A Mechanical Inspector is needed on site in Dubai to inspect HVAC and mechanical systems for proper installation and quality. The inspector reviews drawings and submittals, checks workmanship and coordinates with engineers, contractors and consultants, while ensuring compliance with project specifications, HSE requirements, codes and UAE regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect HVAC and mechanical systems, ductwork, pipework, equipment, supports and insulation
• Review drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, technical submissions, test results and inspection records
• Check and respond to Inspection Requests (IRs)
• Witness pressure testing, flushing, balancing, testing and commissioning
• Identify defects, NCRs and non-conforming works and follow up on corrective actions
• Monitor contractor workmanship, materials, resources and progress
• Coordinate mechanical interfaces with electrical, structural, architectural, BMS and fire systems
• Maintain inspection reports, site records, progress updates and photos; monitor and close snagging and punch-list items
• Review as-built drawings, O&M manuals and handover documents
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, HSE requirements, codes and UAE regulations
• Attend site, progress, quality and commissioning meetings

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction supervision with a consultancy
• Understanding of the business plan, mission and key challenges, and willingness to contribute to company procedures
• Knowledge of health and safety, quality and training policies

Required skills

• Knowledge of concept design, buildability, detailed design, construction techniques, procurement routes, risk assessment and claim assessment
• Knowledge of CAD standards and 3D working
• Responsibility for Quality Management (QA) for the team
