Mechanical Maintenance Technician – LNG Plant

About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will perform skilled maintenance, overhaul and repair on major plant equipment within the LNG/ASR plant. The role requires precise work on rotating and static machinery, ensuring operational integrity and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, overhaul and repair pumps, steam/gas turbines, compressors, fans, blowers, gearboxes and related rotating equipment.
• Dismantle, repair, assemble and align heat exchangers, boilers, furnaces, columns, vessels and oil purifiers.
• Fabricate pipework from isometric drawings and perform pipe alignment.
• Use hand and power tools such as spanners, wrenches, pneumatic tools, high‑pressure jetting equipment, calipers, micrometers and grinding machines.
• Conduct routine monitoring, vibration analysis and physical checks on major machinery.
• Prepare dimensional and alignment reports, maintain housekeeping and assist with simple data sheets.
• Observe and enforce HSE requirements, intervening in unsafe activities.

Required profile

• Secondary education or equivalent.
• At least 4 years of mechanical repair and maintenance experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Strong coordination abilities.

Required skills

• Experience with pumps, turbines, compressors (rotating & reciprocating), fans, blowers, gearboxes, overhead cranes and related plant equipment.
• Proficiency in using measuring devices: calipers, feeler gauges, micrometers, verniers, clock gauges.
• Ability to work to close tolerances and perform press‑fit, shrink‑fit and keying operations.
• Competence with hand and pneumatic tools, grinding machines, air‑driven drills and impact wrenches.
• Knowledge of vibration analysis, equipment alignment and pipework fabrication.
