Mechanical Manager – Rotating Equipment

About the role

Petrofac is seeking an experienced Mechanical Manager to lead a team of engineers and designers on rotating equipment projects. The role covers the full project life‑cycle from field development studies through detailed design, construction support and operational troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and guide engineers and designers, providing mechanical engineering input for proposals and project execution.
• Develop and maintain risk and opportunity registers, identify scope, technical requirements and potential cost‑saving opportunities.
• Review tender documents, ITTs and contracts, ensuring compliance with specifications, HSE and quality standards.
• Prepare technical data for procurement, review vendor offers, and coordinate purchase requisitions.
• Manage engineering schedules, manpower allocation and cost control to meet project milestones.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary inputs (process, P&ID, SLD, hazardous area classification) and ensure integrated design deliverables.
• Use PETROCEPT software to update progress reports and track engineering deliverables.
• Support construction and commissioning teams with technical guidance and start‑up assistance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 20 years of industry experience.
• At least 4–5 years in a senior mechanical engineering role within an EPC environment for oil & gas.
• Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
