Mechanical Project Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Project Engineer will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of all mechanical works on construction sites across the United Arab Emirates. You will ensure HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire‑fighting, LPG and related MEP systems are installed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and coordinate all mechanical activities on site, reviewing drawings, specifications and BOQs before work begins.
• Develop work schedules, monitor progress and report weekly/monthly status to management.
• Manage site engineers, foremen, supervisors and subcontractors to achieve productivity targets.
• Ensure installations comply with approved designs, local authority regulations and international codes.
• Control manpower, material, equipment and resource utilization.
• Coordinate procurement, delivery of materials and resolve technical issues on site.
• Prepare RFIs, MIRs, method statements, ITPs and other project documentation.
• Lead testing, commissioning, inspections and obtain authority approvals.
• Review and certify subcontractor work and progress claims.
• Support project close‑out, including as‑built drawings, O&M manuals and final handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical MEP projects.
• Strong knowledge of UAE construction practices and local authority regulations.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage large‑scale projects.
