Medical Oncologist

About the role

A leading healthcare facility in the UAE is seeking an experienced Medical Oncologist to work on site. The specialist diagnoses and treats cancer using systemic therapies such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage patients with various types of cancer
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on cancer type, stage and patient needs
• Administer and monitor systemic cancer treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapies
• Evaluate treatment responses and manage therapy-related side effects and complications
• Coordinate multidisciplinary cancer care with surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists and radiologists
• Counsel patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options and supportive care
• Monitor patients throughout treatment and follow-up, and maintain accurate medical records following clinical protocols

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• MD/DNB in General Medicine or equivalent, followed by DM/DNB or equivalent specialization in Medical Oncology
• Minimum 3 years of post-specialization experience preferred
• Experience managing diverse cancer cases and systemic cancer therapies
• Strong clinical judgment, communication and patient-care skills
