MEP Design Manager

About the role

Careers International is recruiting an MEP Design Manager in Dubai to lead and review Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) design and technical coordination for major construction and luxury interior fit-out projects. The role coordinates between clients, consultants, design teams and site teams to deliver optimised, cost-effective and technically compliant MEP packages.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and review HVAC, plumbing, drainage, electrical, ELV and firefighting designs.
• Coordinate MEP layouts with architectural, interior design, structural and fit-out teams.
• Ensure designs comply with Dubai Municipality, DCD, DEWA and other authority requirements.
• Review and approve drawings, SLDs, load calculations, BOQs and technical specifications.
• Review contractor submittals and support value engineering and cost optimisation.
• Lead and mentor MEP design engineers and CAD/BIM team members.
• Monitor design schedules and ensure timely completion of project milestones.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 8+ years of MEP design experience, including 3-5 years in a managerial or team lead role within the GCC.
• Strong experience in construction and luxury interior fit-out projects.
• Strong leadership, technical coordination and communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD MEP, Revit and Navisworks.
• HVAC load calculation software such as HAP / TRACE 700.
• Knowledge of UAE building codes, ASHRAE, NFPA and NEC standards.
