MEP Manager - Construction

About the role

An experienced MEP Manager is sought to lead the mechanical, electrical and plumbing department for construction projects in Abu Dhabi. The role covers MEP design coordination, installation supervision, quality control and timely execution, ensuring projects meet client requirements, regulatory standards and safety guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee MEP activities from design, procurement, installation, commissioning to handover, and ensure compliance with project specifications, approved drawings and Abu Dhabi authority requirements
• Manage MEP subcontractors, vendors and site teams, and keep MEP works on schedule
• Coordinate with architectural, structural and civil teams; review design drawings, shop drawings and submittals; resolve design conflicts with consultants and clients
• Ensure compliance with LEED, Estidama and UAE codes
• Implement QA/QC plans, conduct site inspections, testing and commissioning supervision, and ensure accurate as-built documentation and O&M manuals
• Monitor MEP budgets, cost control and procurement schedules, support variation order evaluations, and optimise resources, manpower and equipment
• Enforce HSE policies, run safety inspections and toolbox talks, and ensure compliance with local authorities and ISO standards
• Prepare progress reports, KPI dashboards and site reports, maintain inspection and approval records, and support project handover

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or MEP engineering
• 10-15 years of MEP construction experience, with at least 7-10 years in UAE/Abu Dhabi projects
• Proven experience in high-rise, commercial, residential, infrastructure or mixed-use projects
• Preferred: experience leading MEP teams on main contractor, EPC or PMC projects, hands-on commissioning and authority inspection experience, and a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget

Required skills

• Knowledge of MEP systems: HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, electrical and BMS
• AutoCAD, Revit MEP and MS Office
• Understanding of Abu Dhabi authority requirements, Estidama and LEED standards
• Leadership, team management, analytical and communication skills
