MES Production Scheduler

About the role

The MES Production Scheduler creates, maintains, and optimizes capacity production schedules within the Ortems APS environment for Eaton’s Dubai operations. The role translates customer demand, material availability, workforce and equipment constraints into executable schedules and monitors adherence to maximize throughput and delivery performance.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain finite‑capacity production schedules in Ortems APS, converting demand and plans into executable orders.
• Sequence production orders considering machine capacity, tooling, workforce skills, shift patterns and priorities.
• Release orders through the approved Ortems‑Apriso workflow and continuously adjust schedules to mitigate disruptions.
• Perform what‑if simulations, scenario analyses and develop recovery plans for breakdowns, shortages or quality issues.
• Act as Key User for Ortems APS, maintaining parameters, calendars, capacities and planning rules.
• Participate in daily production, planning and operational review meetings and communicate schedule risks and recovery actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in production planning, detailed scheduling or materials planning in a complex manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication skills across production, engineering, quality and supply‑chain functions.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of SAP.
• Hands‑on experience with MES and advanced planning & scheduling systems, specifically Ortems APS.
• Understanding of finite‑capacity scheduling, production orders, routings, bills of material, work centers and changeovers.
