Metallurgical Engineer I

About the role

Engineer I, Metallurgy will lead a team of lab analysts at AL TAIF Technical Services LLC, performing metal extraction, refining, alloying and characterisation activities. The role supports failure and materials testing, ensures compliance with ISO standards and contributes to reliability and maintainability of defence‑related systems.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise Lab Analysts in the Failure and Materials Testing Laboratory and act as the metallurgical engineering expert.
• Review test methodologies, analyse data, and identify root causes of material and component failures.
• Provide technical assistance to prototyping, fabrication, design and simulation teams on metallurgy‑related issues.
• Develop and enforce acceptance standards, monitor non‑destructive testing projects and ensure ISO‑compliant quality management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in metallurgy, materials engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of hands‑on metallurgy experience, with 3–5 years supervising staff preferred.
• Experience with failure analysis tools such as SEM, XRF and XRD.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and data, and to communicate effectively in English.
