Microservices & API Developer

About the role

techcarrot FZ LLC is looking for a Microservices & API Developer in Dubai. You will design, build and maintain scalable microservices with Node.js and TypeScript, create API-first solutions, deploy containerized apps on Azure Kubernetes Service and publish and secure APIs with Azure API Management.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable microservices using Node.js and TypeScript
• Build API-first solutions using REST standards and OpenAPI specifications
• Deploy, manage and scale containerized applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Publish, secure and manage APIs using Azure API Management (APIM)
• Integrate backend services with internal and external systems using synchronous and asynchronous patterns
• Implement authentication and authorization with OAuth2, OpenID Connect and Azure AD
• Ensure code quality through testing, reviews and CI/CD automation
• Implement logging, monitoring and tracing with Azure Monitor and Application Insights
• Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps and architecture teams

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• 6-8 years of hands-on backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript
• Experience building and operating microservices and REST APIs in production
• Ability to work independently on features and contribute to design discussions

Required skills

• Node.js and TypeScript for backend development
• Azure services, especially AKS, API Management and Key Vault
• Docker and Kubernetes concepts
• CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
• SQL and/or NoSQL databases
• API security best practices and OWASP guidelines
• Nice to have: NextJS, Azure Service Bus or Event Hubs, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus or Grafana, performance tuning in the cloud
