Mid-level Python Backend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a mid‑level Python backend engineer to join our focused engineering team building real‑time and batch data pipelines for the iGaming ecosystem. You will work alongside senior engineers and an engineering manager to design, develop and operate production‑grade services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build production Python services such as APIs, stream consumers, pipelines, feature stores, scheduled jobs and background workers.
• Write and optimise SQL schemas and queries that underpin these services.
• Maintain engineering standards including code quality, testing, observability and deployment discipline.
• Productionise data‑scientist experiments into reliable services and troubleshoot issues in production.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews and on‑call rotation for owned services.

Required profile

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong Python skills, especially asynchronous programming and data processing.
• Deep knowledge of relational and non‑relational databases, SQL optimisation and transaction handling.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven ability to own and operate services in production.
