Middle Frontend Engineer

About the role

NodeShift is a fast-growing AI infrastructure startup based in Abu Dhabi, designing and operating sovereign cloud and generative AI platforms for governments, banks and national enterprises. It is looking for a Middle Frontend Engineer who has experience with React and TypeScript, has worked with designers to build user interfaces and has strong written and verbal communication skills. The position is fully remote, though some overlap with US timezones is required.

Key responsibilities

• Build frontend web applications and Node.js microservices from scratch
• Work with product designers and other developers to build and release new features
• Create high-quality, accessible and performant interfaces from Figma designs and wireframes
• Work with backend engineers to implement APIs and test your work
• Write reusable libraries and custom logic with solid test coverage, and take part in code reviews
• Minimize tech debt while delivering new features, help scale the team and shape the engineering culture

Required profile

• 3+ years building complex web apps from scratch with JavaScript, React, TypeScript, HTML and CSS
• Degree in Computer Science required
• Able to meet deadlines and work in an agile, self-organising way
• Good written English; previous remote work or team leadership experience is a plus
• Interest in open source, cloud computing and Web3; thrives in a small, cross-functional startup team
