Molecular Biology Specialist (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Molecular Biology Specialist to join a leading biotechnology research client on a remote contract basis. The role involves designing and executing molecular biology experiments, analyzing data with bioinformatics tools, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to drive gene‑therapy and genetic‑engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design and perform molecular biology experiments such as PCR, cloning, Gibson Assembly, restriction digestion, and DNA/RNA extraction.
• Analyze experimental results using bioinformatics software, statistical methods, and NGS data analysis where applicable.
• Document protocols, results, and present findings to support research objectives.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to integrate molecular workflows into broader project pipelines.
• Optimize and troubleshoot protocols to improve efficiency and reproducibility.

Required profile

• Proficiency in PCR, gel electrophoresis, and nucleic acid purification techniques.
• Strong knowledge of molecular cloning, including Gibson Assembly and restriction digestion.
• Familiarity with bioinformatics tools such as BLAST, Primer‑BLAST, and sequence alignment software.
• Ability to troubleshoot experimental challenges and propose solutions.
• Experience with NGS data analysis is preferred.
