Motor Control Specialist Engineer – Siemens Starters

About the role

We are looking for a Motor Control Specialist Engineer to provide hands‑on expertise in Siemens motor control and starter systems. You will install, commission and troubleshoot direct‑on‑line and reversing starter circuits, diagnose faults on live systems and deliver permanent corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Install, wire, test and commission Siemens DOL and forward/reverse motor starter circuits.
• Build, modify and repair motor control panels and motor control centres (MCCs).
• Diagnose faults by reading schematics, tracing circuits, isolating causes and verifying repairs.
• Perform continuity, insulation resistance, phase rotation and functional testing before energisation.
• Select, set and verify overload relays and protection devices according to motor name‑plate data.
• Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and liaise with Siemens technical support.
• Produce fault reports, test records and as‑built documentation.
• Ensure compliance with electrical standards, lock‑out/tag‑out and permit‑to‑work procedures.
• Provide technical guidance to site technicians and subcontractors and travel to client sites across the UAE and region as required.

Required profile

• Relevant electrical engineering background or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience with Siemens motor control and starter systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and I/O schedules.
• Willingness to work onsite and travel within the UAE and surrounding region.

Required skills

• Siemens DOL and reversing motor starter installation.
• Motor control panel and MCC assembly.
• Control relays (24 V DC, 110 V AC), timers, auxiliary contacts and interposing relays.
• Overload relay selection and protection device verification.
• Electrical testing: continuity, insulation resistance, phase rotation, functional testing.
• Fault diagnosis and root‑cause analysis.
• FAT and SAT support.
• Lock‑out/tag‑out and permit‑to‑work safety procedures.
