MSO Lead - Managed Security Operations

About the role

The MSO Lead manages advanced security operations for Microsoft Cloud environments, ensuring proactive threat detection, compliance, identity and endpoint protection across enterprise environments. The role requires deep expertise in Microsoft security technologies such as Microsoft Defender, Entra, Intune and Purview.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day security operations for Microsoft 365 and Azure Security environments
• Oversee incident detection, triage, investigation and response using Microsoft Defender XDR
• Configure and optimise Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, Defender for Identity and Defender for Cloud Apps
• Manage Intune for endpoint compliance, device security baselines and application protection policies
• Manage Purview for data security, compliance and insider risk management
• Manage Entra for identity governance, access management and strong authentication
• Optional: monitor alerts in Microsoft Sentinel and Defender, conduct threat hunting and vulnerability assessments, coordinate remediation with IT and cloud teams
• Ensure GDPR, ISO 27001 and NIST compliance, implement DLP and information protection policies, and maintain audit readiness
• Collaborate with architecture, cloud and compliance teams and provide executive-level reporting on incidents and risk posture

Required profile

• 8 to 12 years in cybersecurity or IT operations, with at least 3 years in Microsoft Cloud Security
• People management experience in cloud security, IT security or SOC operations, leading security analysts
• Preferred certifications: Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert, Security Operations Analyst Associate, Microsoft 365 Security Administrator Associate; CISSP or CISM is an added advantage

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender suite, Entra, Intune and Purview
• Knowledge of Zero Trust principles and Microsoft Security Baselines
• Added advantage: Microsoft Sentinel and security automation (Logic Apps, Playbooks)
• Leadership, team management and stakeholder engagement
